Unless it is a criminal case or, possibly, a divorce, it's all regarding the money. If you sue somebody, you wish cash. If you have been sued, you do not wish to pay cash. In fact, you will not even wish to pay your own attorney.
Let's say your consumer is during a $500 dispute. a decent attorney (or even a foul one United Nations agency desires to induce paid) explains that the consumer pays the attorney much more than $500. If the consumer responds that he or she would rather pay the attorney, you want to pause, compact your greed and repeat your cautionary warning. Slowly and clearly.
