Exabytes has headquarters in Singapore and offers a range of hosting services including public and private cloud options alongside dedicated servers, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), and SSL certificates. The company is also heavily involved in domain name registration. Exabytes was in the news last month for its acquisition of services industry player Ekuinas. In its latest acquisition the company has underscored its aggressive acquisition strategy by buying “Indonesia's largest web hosting player” and its two subsidiaries ‘PT Cyberdata Technology’ and ‘PT Registrasi Nama Domain’.
Established in 2001, Master Web Network offers a broad range of hosting packages including shared hosting, Virtual Private Servers (VPS), colocation, managed servers and dedicated servers. The company also offers domain registration services. The “#1 web hosting company in Indonesia”, it provides both personal and corporate accounts. Exabytes has 30% of Malaysia’s present hosting market and has over 75,000 customers in over 120 countries. After the acquisition Exabytes Group will serve more than 120,000 customers, predominantly in Southeast Asia. The financial aspects of the deal were not released, but Exabytes has announced its intention to invest in technology, automation, and talent to “help Master Web Network further improve its service offerings in Indonesia”.
"It currently has over 40,000 active paying clients,” suggested Exabytes’ CEO and founder Chan Kee Siak when talking about Master Web Network. “Combined with our own PT Exabytes Network Indonesia which we launched in 2017, we are now by far the largest web hosting provider in Indonesia with over 55,000 active paying clients. We started talking in 2017 and had agreed on terms earlier but compliance with local regulations took some time, which is why we are announcing the acquisition today," he added.
