  1. We've heard about some people getting in trouble due to sales and purchases made on the Silk Road. There are a few things you can (and should!) do:
  2. * Never talk about the Silk Road using your real name or an account which is indirectly linked to your real name (email address), if you've purchased or sold illegal products on the Silk Road.
  3. * Start running TOR as a (non-exit) relay or bridge to make it more difficult to track your connections (and other peoples connections): https://www.torproject.org/getinvolved/relays.html.en
  4. * Keep your Bitcoins on your local machine so you don't have to sign up to an online wallet service.
  5. * Try services such as localbitcoins.com, btcnearme to buy your Bitcoins locally instead of using an exchange. You'll have to meet someone in person, but you don't have to associate your bank account with a Bitcoin service.
  6. * Create a special email address and a new PGP key for your purchases or sales on the Silk Road and check out other markets, in case we're having server issues or anything else happens to our service.
  7. * Don't use the same browser/browser settings you're using for the clearnet. It might even be possible to find out who you are, without even knowing your IP address.
  8. * Check out the the SR forums for more informations: http://dkn255hz262ypmii.onion/
