In violet haze and on a cloud,
Whilst rainbows were my only muse,
I took their route to earthy ground
And slid down out of heaven's blue.
In green-tinged greeting I was met
As softest grass diffused my fall,
And so with greatest introspect,
I wondered at this earthly call.
-------------
I saw it, then, the trees sad blight
And how the flowers sadly bent;
I saw how dark replaced the light
And why I was, from heaven, sent.
An angel
Who now comes to you
By seeing past your many wrongs;
Who tells you of the sky's pure blue,
And of the heavens' purist songs.
