Lesotho is a very mountainous region in Southern Africa, so you would expect that the most common places to see in the area are hills, peaks and mountains. And it’s true. People visit Lesotho because of their elevated lands and prominent peaks. Aside from that, the country also has an Afro-Alpine ski resort (surprising, indeed!) and other natural attractions. This is a Lesotho travel guide, which can be your travel check list, when you are in the country. Have fun!
Drakensberg
Drakensberg is very well-known in Lesotho and other countries in Africa which are Swaziland and South Africa. It is a range of mountains from South West to North East of Africa and it has a length of 1,000 kilometers or 620 miles. They also call the range the “Mountains of Dragons” and are one of the places to visit in Lesotho. You will see rocks in this range like Basalt and Quartzite. The range is also famous for its san cave paintings. These ancient paintings (35,000 to 40,000 drawings) can be found near the Lesotho mountain border and was dated at around 40,000 years ago.
