  11. The paper on the table is shiny and wet.
  12. The paint in the porcelain cup
  13. Is wet and bright and cool.
  15. He is timid at first.
  17. A single finger touches paint,
  18. Draws back quickly, waits awhile.
  20. At last he takes
  21. a dab.
  23. And after that he smears.
  25. A forest scene
  26. Is spread in green
  27. Across the slippery page.
  29. There are trees with mighty trunks
  30. And greenish rivers feed
  31. Their lovely twisted roots.
