  18. This is a tutorial for beginners to bitcoin on how to setup a counterwallet
  19. Here is an extremely short video on how easy it is to send tokens with Counterwallet
  20. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LcEmjSKPPM
  21. https://wallet.counterwallet.io/
  22. CREATE A NEW WALLET
  23. Click the Create New Wallet Button
  24. SAVE YOUR PASSPHRASE IN A .TXT DOCUMENT/STORE SECURELY ON EXTERNAL DEVICE
  25. In the text box that pops up, you have the option to cycle through randomly generated strings of 12 words that will become your personal passphrase. All spaces are necessary. Your passphrase CANNOT be changed at any time as it is a permanent key, so it is extremely important to copy and paste this passphrase into a new text document and save it OUTSIDE of your computer on an external device such as a USB stick
  26. You could keep your USB stick locked up in a safe deposit box to ensure that no one else has access to your account and login only when needed.
  27. RECEVING TOKENS (COLORED COINS)
  28. There is NO minimum balance required for any wallet to receive tokens so go ahead and get started asking for some !
  29. Q: "Where can I get some tokens for free?"
  30. A: http://bitbin.it/fSs7pG3Y/
  31. Just ask here in the comments. Some people are starting to give away a few. It is always good to have tokens since it costs actual money to create them, so never turn down the opportunity to own some.
  32. Q: "What kinds of tokens are available ?"
  33. A: Please visit
  34. https://xcpassets.org/all-assets/
  35. and
  36. http://coincap.io
  37. Also you can check if a token is available by trying to create the token yourself, but just entering the name in caps should make a response come up and say if the token name is unavailable. If the name is available, there won't be any red info text that appears and you could proceed if you choose so but it does cost actual bitcoin to create a token. Completing the task is not necessary.
  38. This is the method I used to find out if the tokens in my other pastes exist or not. Please check those for more examples of tokens that are available and ask for some in the comments.
  39. SENDING TOKENS
  40. The minimum balance required to send tokens from one wallet to another regardless of quantity of tokens being sent is always 0.0005 BTC (bitcoin). This means that you must have 0.0005 BTC in your wallet the tokens are being sent in order for the transaction to occur. This is forwarded as a miner fee to pay the supercomputers doing the work behind the transaction and posting it to the blockchain.
  41. At the time of this publication, 0.0005 BTC is equal to $0.21 USD
  42. This is also an anti-spam feature to prevent frivolous spending that may overload the network.
  43. USING TOKENS
  44. Check a token's info in Counterwallet by clicking the box next to your token name with the small down pointing triangle and then click "Show Info".
  45. A box should pop up. The description box is where you can find out where to spend tokens. Sometimes the description is blank, maybe because the website hasn't been reserved yet for the announcement but the coin was made in advance to reserve the name. Info also shows exactly how many tokens are available.
  46. I personally am not sure where to spend any of these tokens, I only put together this info to help others get a wallet setup so you can spend them when the information is announced.
  47. Hopefully all of this info helps you starting out with your first tokens and spending them wherever you like. Cheers.
