Brad Carter, 39, was undergoing a procedure to implant a brain pacemaker to help treat his involuntary hand tremors.
The medical team posted live updates on Twitter as well as videos of the musician, who was awake and testing his motor skills by playing during the procedure.
After surgery, his finger agility was significantly improved.
