everytime i go shopping in san francisco ona sunday i must go to this cafe! solely for their homemade butternut squash soup with dried cranberries and walnuts which i am head-over-heels in love with
great prices for everything on the menu, you can get a 1/2 (large!) sandwich with a nice sized bowl of soup combo for under $7, or combo of sandwich/salad, salad/soup, etc.
pasta salad is pretty good and so are their breads, they give you a piece of bread with almost everything unless it's a sandwich i think
a really nice place to sit and people watch in a cozy little chair with your daily paper and rich bowl of soup
note - they have a different soup of the day for each day of the week, but i think they always offer tomato soup (another ta sty thing is the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo! both the sandwich and the soup are so tasty), chili and clam chowder
bakery items are available too, but i've never gotten one so i don't know what they're like
