In 1957 Bubble wrap was created as a textured wallpaper by Engineer AI Fielding and Swiss inventor Marc Chanvannes.

They wanted to create a wallpaper that would appeal to the Beat generation but soon realized that it would make a much better packing material.

I don't know about you but I would have to replace my wallpaper daily!
