  5. As another option, you might have previously installed Node. I have installed Inkscape but not with brew cask and MacTeX with brew cask, version 2018. But why make your life more difficult? I used fedora 24 with dnf to install the default package from the repo. The older versions of Node and npm are replaced with the newer versions for each downloaded update. While window's explorer and terminal seem to handle them nicely, they aren't handled nicely in other processes.

  7. This method of upgrading node is now unstable and should not be used. The best way to manage Node. No worries -- simply upgrade my Node. Of course I could just hit nodejs. It turns out there is -- you can : sudo npm cache clean -f sudo npm install -g n sudo n stable The n package represents a Node helper, and running the last command upgrades node to the latest stable version. Did anybody get this working on Windows 7. How to get the n to work on Windows 7. On Windows 7 installing n worked for me but then it tells me the version it tries to install is a invalid version. But there was no opportunity to back out by the time the message was up. Yes, I could apt-get a version quickly, but the repo version is too old to do https!.
