  1. ALOR SETAR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK) - A Form Two pupil had to undergo cranial surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain after he was allegedly beaten up by three schoolmates in Sungai Petani on Sunday (Aug 28).
  2. The alleged incident is believed to have occurred between 10am and 11am in his school, SMK Khir Johari.
  3. The boy, 14, returned home at about 2.30pm and went to sleep without having his lunch.
  4. He later told his mother he had been beaten by three schoolmates and his head had hit a wall during the fight.
  5. He then complained of pain in his head and was rushed to the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital at about 4pm by his father.
  6. He was transferred to the Sultanah Bahyah Hospital in Alor Setar as he had to undergo cranial surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain early on Monday morning.
  7. The teen is now warded at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
  8. His father lodged a police report over the incident at the Sultan Abdul Halim Hospital on Sunday night.
  9. He said that doctors told him his son would "not be as normal as before" due to the head injury.
  10. Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Md Zukir Md Isa confirmed a report had been made over the incident.
  11. He said that the case would be investigated as one of causing grievous hurt.
