  1. nfp hosting warning to all
  2. I would like to say that I have used nfp hosing for a while and had nothing but problems. VPS downtime was so frequent the VPS's I had were basically useless. I fought trying to use the VPS's for 6 months and finally gave up.

  12. Unfortunately, I paid an annual subscription to save a few bucks. What a mistake that was. I canceled my vps hosting 6 months early and they refuse to refund my my 6 months of unused services... stating its against their TOS.
  13. TOS states "We offer a 3 day money back guarantee on shared hosting, reseller hosting, and VPS hosting services. Any refund requests submitted past this timeframe are evaluated on a case by case basis."
  14. As far as I am concerned, the six months I requested back were prior to the 3 day money back guarantee, because the services were not even used yet. I feel they are stealing from me, correct me if I am wrong.
  15. I'm waiting to see what paypal feels about this, hopefully they will side for me and return my unused portion of the services.
  16. I have used many vps hosting services recently and this by far was the biggest mistake I made. Wish I had been warned not to use them.
  17. Hopefully this will save someone from going through what I have gone through
  18. Sorry to hear about your poor experience with NFP Hosting - hopefully you can find a better provider for your needs

  25. If you are under the Money back Guarantee hopefully you will be refunded after the Paypal Investigation !
  26. He's not under the provider Money Back Guarantee, but perhaps under buyer protection with Paypal.
  27. yes, i would think 'buyer protection with Paypal' will get my my non used services back, so it's not just me, they are trying to steal from me. I will post the results when they happen should be before 1/7/19
  28. i also warned them if they did not give me my unused portion back, I would be posting here for all to see about their terrible business practices. they still refused to give me any money back. so, its posted
  29. Unless they changed it, the paypal buyer protection doesn't extend to services / intangible goods. So it may come down to luck if paypal refunds back.
  30. Please allow me to look into this for you before we jump into any conclusions.
  31. Please PM me with a ticket # and I would be more than happy to personally assist
  32. Thumbs down

  42. the reseller vps i had many 192. ips that went down more than they were up ... and i got no help with those, it was a nightmare CONCLUSIONS my A**
  43. CONCLUSIONS???? HA
  44. that is what i saw so often i was sick
  45. now its ALL FACT
  46. i wasted so much of my time to keep restarting my s**t running on those it was totally ridiculous ... then i'm told i'm not allowed my money back on unused portions???? I didnt ask for a refund on the whole thing, which i should get for how those ran
  47. not pm'ng ... as I said, i warned you days ago I would post here if you did not treat your customer with respect so its all out there for everyone to see
  48. plus i do not trust private talk at this point, you have anything to say you can say it on this thread
  49. You remind me of the diner who eats half his meal and then complains its not edible and asks for a refund for the part he did not eat
  50. Are you Mrs Ray, Joseph Resler, or Chris Usti?
  51. As someone before me said, this sounds like "someone who sat down at a restaurant, ate half their meal, and demands a refund for the other half."
  52. Allow me:
  53. Unfortunately, I paid an annual subscription to save a few bucks.
  54. You have just established you paid for a one-year subscription. Okay, you didn't tell us when yet.
  55. I canceled my vps hosting 6 months early
  56. And now you did; six months ago. We now established you purchased this annual subscription on or about six months ago.
  57. they refuse to refund my my 6 months of unused services... stating its against their TOS.
  58. I think you'll find no one will give you a refund six months later. But for the sake of the fact the expectation of that is ludicrous, I am going to pretend you haven't already read their TOS.

  61. And here we arrive. "3-day money back guarantee."

  64. I also think they mean in the realm of reasonability too. Not "use half the subscription and request the entire subscription back." Especially when we are already talking about six months.
  65. If you were as truly unhappy as you claim, you would have not waited six months. Nobody waits for six months. There are only two scenarios that ever play out in various forms: (1) you get off on the right foot with a provider and are happy or (2) you get off on the wrong foot with the provider you have formed an opinion on the provider.
  66. And that happens from shared all the way up to building your own datacenter. Opinions take only about 3 weeks to form about a vendor or contractor/sub-contractor.
  67. it was a monthly subscription paid annually .. that makes it 6 months of PRE PAID unused services not just an 'annual subscription" and I most certainly did mention that in my first post.
  68. and i am not asking for the entire amount back, only the portion of the unused services
  69. obviously its all about perception
  70. because to me ... As far as I am concerned, the six months I requested back were PRIOR to the 3 day money back guarantee, because the services were not even started for those months yet. So I did request within 3 days of the services.
  71. and I have proof how much downtime there was, my life circumstances did not allow me to change 23 vps's in in 6 months easily, not like it was just one vps that I could switch and move my stuff in a day
  72. the first month i really thought it was just gonna get better, the second month i started asking them for help and the third month ... then i started looking at other options and it took me a couple of months to find what i needed.
  73. So, if you pay for, lets say car insurance .... annually, you think if you want to switch insurance companies in six months they dont owe you six months worth of insurance that you prepaid? ... thats a half eaten meal ? LOL
  74. that's rediculous
  75. regardless, people should be warned about the trouble of paying annually to 'save a few bucks' and what it can REALLY end up costing them in the long run ... I am simply warning others
  76. To be honest, I think you're confused when you say that you haven't used the VPS for 6 months. The day you pay is the day the period starts, so in your case you paid for an annual plan 6 months ago (from what I gather) from the day you paid and you were given your VPS to use, that is the day service starts, meaning, although you didn't use the service it doesn't mean you're owed 6 months money back. You paid for a year upfront, which really you should've done your research first, or at least paid monthly for a few months until you were happy with the service.
  77. In regards to the downtime, obviously that's not great and it should've been something you should be dealing with the company directly so they can solve it. Failure to solve it they should give you some sort of credit (as a goodwill gesture) as an apology for the downtime, but they are cetainly well within their rights to reject your refund request of 6 months as the guarantee was within 3 days.
  78. I understand what you are trying to say but do you have cellular service? TV service? Literally any contract service? All of these are contract services.
  79. Do you think that at the start of every month that the right to pull out of your contract "resets" and you can avoid any ETFs or have any money back that you get in the first 15-30 days (depending on provider)?
  80. There's nothing to warn here in regards to an annual contract whether you pay everything up front or monthly.
  81. YES my perception is I PRE PAID and every month ... just like a monthly paying person. I paid the 12 months in advance, not to get screwed if I stop early.
  82. and i kept submitting support tickets BEGGING for a fix to the 192 ips ... I did deal with the company about the down time which never got fixed which is why i canceled
  83. the 'services' examples of cell phone etc are not examples of something someone would pay annually for monthly billiing and makes no sense.... like a half eaten meal LOL give me a break, comparing apples to oranges here.
  84. what about the insurance I mentioned, if you paid a years worth of monthly insurance payments to save a few bucks, and 6 months later cancel to go to different co ... you don't expect some of that back? OF COURSE YOU DO
  85. you people that say I am wrong, I agree to disagree
  86. and nothing to warn??? I totally disagree with that. Wish i had been warned, I would have never used them if I knew about their terrible business practices at nfp hosting.

  98. i provided what you asked, reply?
  99. oh and its not ONLY a 3 day money back guarantee, they do also state in the TOS "requests submitted past this timeframe are evaluated on a case by case basis." ... people that pay IN ADVANCE should be evaluated and reimbursed for services not used!!!!!!! plain and simple
  100. Everybody pays in advance. Even a monthly plan without discount is paid in advanced. The evaluation period is the same if you paid for one month in advance or 1 year in advance. The fact that you paid farther in advance doesn't change the the evaluation time of the services. In this case its 3 days of evaluation. Its not unusual NOT to give an evaluation period with a VPS.
  101. Try to be nice and contrite instead of coming on here and making accusations. You might be able to pull off a refund based on the monthly non-discounted rate. For example if the non-discounted vps is $20/mo and you had it for six months the refund would be (your annual payment) - ($20 x 6).
  102. Beyond the eval period, they refund on a case-by-case basis. The problem is not the host, its you and how you are presenting your case
  103. Lovely two sides to every story, OP at this time with all the above posted the decision to refund is with the host. If you prepaid to get a discount you are not entitled to a refund because the service went down hill, you should have done your research before purchasing.
