Experiments have shown that ADG-2 targets SARS-CoV-2 receptors and a number of related coronaviruses present on the surface. The authors dub this receptor closely linked to SARS-CoV-2 as the Achilles heel of coronaviruses, and propose that this weakness may be exploited to develop vaccines against emerging coronaviruses
