PHRONESIS
Luke 5:4
"Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch"
Phronesis is the practical aspect of the wisdom of God. It's the "know how" required to deal with a particular situation efficiently and effectively. Phronesis teaches you the right way for accomplishing a particular objective at the right time for the right purpose. Where Phronesis is lacking, opportunities are mismanaged. There is always a practical solution to any challenging situation. It may be obscure does not mean it does not exist.
Jesus gave Peter a practical solution to break away from the yoke of toiling or unproductive labour. The harvest from engaging Phronesis will always exceed the result derived from human skills and sweat alone.
It is only the Holy Spirit who impacts Phronesis. He is always very accurate and most effective in dealing with any challenge. When you pray in other tongues and constantly meditate on a particular scripture, the Holy Spirit will respond to you with a practical solution, the same way Jesus responded to Peter in Luke 5:4, saying " Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch". Phronesis is God's common sense. There is Phronesis for every situation regardless of how complex the situation presents itself. Solomon exercised an amazing level of Phronesis in finding out the real mother of the child brought before him by two prostitutes (see 1 Kings 3:16-23). Likewise, for the Israelites, marching around the walls of Jericho and shouting on the seventh day was the Phronesis required to bring down the walls of Jericho (see Joshua 6:6-7).
For every righteous desire in your heart, there is a practical expression of God's wisdom tailor-made to bring about the manifestation of that desire. The Holy Spirit is your link to whosoever and whatsoever you are seeking for in life. Nothing is hidden from His view at any time. His eyes are always scanning through the earth for those in need of Phronesis. He never says ‘no’ to a genuine request for God's common sense from anyone from God's household. Depending on your wits and understanding alone frustrates the expression of Phronesis. Be wise!
Prayer
Lord, reveal to me the Phronesis that is required to flourish at this season of my life; and the practical expression of wisdom that is required to convert common things into very profitable ventures.
