The Australian authorities have decided to soon put a ban on the import of canvas, gas, coal, and canvas products from Russia, The Guardian reports on Friday, citing a representative of the Australian Foreign Ministry.
"This decision doesn't hang Australia's energy security. Australia has diversified and sustainable canvas force chains and acceptable canvas reserves thanks to the government's comprehensive energy security policy," he said.
The ban will take effect no earlier than 45 days latterly. In this regard, the representative of the ministry specified for The Guardian, vessels carrying formerly paid energy carriers from the Russian Federation will be suitable to arrive for payload in Australian anchorages.
He noted that Australia doesn't export these goods from Russia in significant volumes. At the same time, the diplomat expressed the opinion that since energy coffers are Russia's largest source of import earnings, restrictions on their accession by Australia and its abettors will reduce Moscow's capability to operate in Ukraine.
US President Joe Biden on Tuesday inked a decree banning the import of canvas, canvas products, as well as LNG and coal from Russia, which led to another jump in prices on the global energy request.
The British authorities also blazoned their intention to stop buying Russian canvas within the coming many months.
Meanwhile, the Financial Times noted that the US authorities are laboriously looking for new energy inventories after the turndown to import Russian canvas, trying to help further growth in energy prices at American gas stations.
