One of the most devastating events in the history of the Philippines is the eruption of Bulkang Pinatubo, as the Filipinos call it. The still active volcano used to be 5,725 feet tall but when it exploded in 1991, it experienced heavy erosion and it is now 4,875 feet in height.
Don’t be afraid – it’s one of the most visited tourist attractions in the country. In fact, there are tours available for those who want to see the aftermath of the volcanic explosion. It would be a fun trip!
