  1. Kwerty Gmail Notifier is a utility that will alert you whenever you have a new email, so you don't have to constantly check your email, manually. Customize your alerts, and set up the program to check for new messages as often as you'd like to ensure you always know when that email you've been waiting for comes in.
  2. This app has a super-streamlined interface, as it runs from the taskbar on the bottom left-hand side of your desktop. Right-clicking on the program icon will bring up the menu, with options that allow you to open your inbox, compose mail, check for new mail, access settings, and log out. When you first install the program, you'll have to log in to your Gmail account through the app; and from then on, the program has direct access to your email. In the Settings menu, you can assign a sound for the new mail alerts by choosing either the system default or importing your own tone from your computer. Also in settings, you can adjust how often the program checks your inbox for new messages on a sliding scale from one minute to 60 minutes, and there are quick-set buttons for one, two, five, and 60 minutes. The program will run automatically when you turn on your machine, but you can turn off this feature in Settings, as well.
  3. The Kwerty icon in the taskbar displays a little red circle with the number of unread messages in your inbox, so you'll always know what's waiting for you. Overall, the program runs well, although the open inbox and compose mail options both seem to just open the inbox. If you want to compose a new message, you have to hit the button manually once you've accessed your account, although this isn't really a drawback. It's free to try, so you can see if it suits your needs.
