Responding to media crew questions related to the big earthquake that rocked West Java overnight, President Joko Widodo admitted to not getting any sleep to get the news.
According to President Jokowi, the earthquake last night was not a weak earthquake.
"Last night I did not sleep, because earthquake is not a small earthquake, the Richter scale is 7.3 on the Richter scale, then 6.9 is a big number," said President after attending Rakornas PDI Perjuangan at ICE Convention Center, Tangerang, Saturday (16/12/2017).
President Jokowi said he kept monitoring the progress that occurred after the earthquake that occurred.
He also kept waiting for news from the area affected by the earthquake.
"Therefore last night waiting for news in the area, but alhamdulillah everything is fine," said President Jokowi.
About the damaged buildings and the victims, President Jokowi said he ordered the local BPBD to act immediately.
"We will send from BPBD soon," said President Jokowi.
