  1. Hope
  2. Your Peace Floods My Soul
  3. “Mister, if you took Him, tell me where you put Him so I can care for Him.” Jesus said, “Mary.” Turning to face him, she said in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” meaning “Teacher!” — John 20:15–16 MSG
  4. All of us grieve in different ways. All of us are on different timetables. And all of us need to give ourselves and one another grace. No one’s grief is exactly like another person’s. Yet there is one thing every grieving person needs.
  5. Jesus died a horrifying and excruciatingly painful death. But with His death, His family and friends suffered an even greater loss than their Friend, Messiah, Teacher, Lord. With Jesus’ death came the death of their hope. They had hoped that one day He would change things, and at the crucifixion that hope vanished.
  6. When Jesus appeared to Mary after the resurrection, He simply spoke her name. In that moment, she felt hope return.
  7. What every grieving person needs to hear is Jesus tenderly say his or her name.
  8. If you are currently dealing with grief, listen to Jesus say your name and receive His peace. And don’t hesitate to do this again and again.
  9. Jesus, I’m grieving, but when I hear You call my name, Your peace floods my soul and hope burns brighter. Amen.
