  6. - THE BITCOIN WEEKEND TRADER -
  7. *** ***
  8. ==============================================
  9. This report is opinion only and should be
  10. treated as that. Trading in bitcoin involves
  11. risk and profit is not guaranteed.
  12. ----------------------------------------------
  13. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  14. -MARKET---------------------------------------
  15. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
  16. The end of the week brought with it and end to
  17. the month long upwards spike. A sudden crash
  18. from a high of USD$266 to almost below
  19. $50 again.
  20. Some speculators see a further fall below $50.
  21. Now could be a great time to buy, but know that
  22. it comes with a risk of the currency still
  23. falling further.
  24. Be prepared to sit out the trough long term if
  25. you are expecting prices as high as recent times.
  26. Part of the crash that has affected the prices
  27. is said to have been caused by a market stress
  28. test from the commercial banking industry. They
  29. no doubt will have a vested interest in bitcoin
  30. so be prepared for further risk.
  31. Even if the value drops to $50 however, remember
  32. that this is on par with the value of this time
  33. last month. Do not panic sell just yet.
  34. Bitcoin is increasingly hitting mainstream media
  35. which means and influx of new users, but also
  36. increased panic as people make trades without
  37. understanding the peculiarities of the currency.

  48. With the fall in price, whether it be short term
  49. or not, the websites offering free bitcoins for
  50. viewing ads and completing tasks have begun to
  51. increase the size of their payments again.
  52. The value of bitcoin is what we perceive it as.
  53. To those that earn bitcoin slowly, the value is
  54. the time they have spent earning.
  55. To those that have mined the value comes from the
  56. cost of the hardware and the electricity consumed
  57. during mining.
  58. To those though that have purchased bitcoins and
  59. are trying to make a quick buck by buying and
  60. selling, caution. The currency is subject to
  61. natural fluctuations like this. This is why you
  62. need to diversify your holdings.

  73. -------------------------------------------------
  74. Using all these sites is how you maximise how many
  75. Bitcoins you have. They may be small amounts now
  76. but your earnings will build, Bitcoin will be
  77. worth more again in the future.
  78. Some believe it may spike above USD$1000 by the
  79. end of the year.
  80. Remember too that the Bitcoin chats available on
  81. some of these sites are where the freshest news
  82. about Bitcoin becomes available first.

  84. Alongside Bitcoin, the alternate cryptocurrency
  85. Litecoin has also fallen in value. It's value
  86. is now sitting around $1.39. Having reached highs
  87. in its usual fluctuations to $4.8 earlier in the
  88. week, Litecoin will no doubt rise in value again
  89. alongside bitcoin.
  90. This alternate currency is not as popular as
  91. bitcoin and should be left to the adventurous
  92. and experienced. Mining is a safer option than
  93. trading, and it can be easily mined on a cpu.

  98. With the Cypriot banking failure largely being
  99. beneficial to Bitcoin adoption, some have been
  100. trying to draw links between other international
  101. matters.
  102. To those entrenched in bitcoin this is last months
  103. news, But the existence of the first Bitcoin ATM
  104. is not something to be ignored.
  105. It also shows how Bitcoin has the power to question
  106. unpopular financial decisions.
  107. Bitcoin is still young, and the exact consequences
  108. it will have are still unknown.
  109. To those that are using Bitcoin to escape taxes,
  110. consider whether this moral. Using Bitcoin for
  111. nefarious purposes also tarnishes its reputation,
  112. and thus its value.

  121. Remember that bitcoin is neutral to these matters.
  122. What is important however is that the $USD and the
  123. Euro are both unstable due to their own financial
  124. crises.
  125. There is money to be made in bitcoins just as there
  126. is money to be made in foreign exchange trading,
  127. but it comes with the same risks, if not more.
  128. War and instability are not good for any economy,
  129. and famine, rationing etc. are byproducts of war.
  130. To make income, you want economies to grow.
  131. The only sectors that make income during a war are
  132. arms dealers and engineering.
  133. Expect tech sectors to be blown out in future wars.
  134. Communications networks will be shutdown and bitcoin
  135. may not be able to be transferred.
  136. Fiat too will lose money, hence why if you predict
  137. instability, investing in gold is an option.

  149. ASICS will be required for the next generation of
  150. mining. This will render GPU mining worthless and
  151. make having an ASIC vital.
  152. However before you rush to purchase an ASIC think
  153. about the shipping time. Orders made now will ship
  154. well after July.
  155. Because the current waves of shipping are already
  156. underway the overall difficulty of mining will
  157. increase, making the G/Hashs of the current models
  158. not as valuable as they currently are.
  159. New blocks can only be discovered at a set rate.
  160. But do not frown at ASICS, overall the release of
  161. their improved hardware, specialised for bitcoin
  162. will make the bitcoin network more efficient and
  163. less power hungry.
  164. But the model of ASIC you order now, will overall
  165. perhaps not earn much more than a GPU does currently
  166. once thousands of the machines are deployed.
  167. Once this happens however, a new generation of miners
  168. at cheaper prices may become available, so then it
  169. may become profitable to mine again.
  170. There is much speculation about whether this company
  171. actually ships. There are rumours that the first
  172. orders may have shipped, and some pool users have
  173. recently increased their hash rates significantly.
  174. As pointed out, their ability to generationalise
  175. their hardware and sell in waves will be a key
  176. to their continued profit as a company so they
  177. are unlikely to dump and run as some paranoid
  178. speculators have pointed out.

  180. If you want to purchase and ASIC anyway. The company
  181. selling them is Butterfly Labs. http://cur.lv/m8vs
