  1. If you're business owner and you haven't yet heard about the Kickstart Scheme then this post is for you.
  2. The Kickstart Scheme provides funding to employers to create job placements for 16 to 24 year olds on Universal Credit. The scheme pays 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.
  3. Kickstarters will also get additional employment support and training to help them progress during their placement, with £1,500 available to employers to cover this training as well as other onboarding costs.
  4. Today's GDP figures show there are still hard times ahead. We know young people have been some of the hardest hit by the pandemic and unemployment can have longstanding implications for their future jobs and wages. Today we announced that over 19,000 job placements for unemployed young people have so far been created under the Kickstart Scheme, but that's just the start.
  5. With the help of business owners across the country we have funding to create more than 250,000 high-quality jobs for young people. So do share this post and tag a business that you think needs to know about the scheme.
