  1. FC Barcelona are said to be looking to strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window, and have reportedly switched their attention to a France international who is also linked with Arsenal.
  2. According to the Daily Mirror, the Blaugrana and the Gunners are set to go head to head for the signature of Monaco winger Thomas Lemar.
  3. Arsene Wenger has identified the Frenchman as a potential replacement for Alexis Sanchez in January following Manchester City's late push for the Chilean in the previous window.
  4. Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev has admitted that a £90 million (R1.68 billion) deal for Lemar to join Arsenal in August almost transpired, but things changed when the London club decided against selling Sanchez to their Premier League rivals.
  5. Although there is no deal on the cards, the 21-year-old is expected to leave the Ligue 1 club at the end of the season, if not earlier.
  6. It has been claimed, though, that the Monaco star will accept nothing less than £250 000 (R4.68 million) a week if an offer eventually comes in.
  7. Lemar has made 13 appearances for his club this season, scoring one goal and assisting a further three strikes.
  8. Who do you think the winger should join? Have your say in the comments section.
