  1. Eleven princes, former government members and acting ministers were arrested at the request of a new anti-corruption body.
  2. The purge is unprecedented in Saudi Arabia. No less than eleven princes, four ministers in office and more than thirty former high-ranking officials were arrested in the night from Saturday to Sunday in the kingdom, reported the television channel al-Arabya.
  3. Their arrest was decided a few hours earlier by an anti-corruption committee, created on that occasion by a royal decree. It is presided over by the son of King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS), the strongman of the kingdom and the inspiration for this purge, as important as it is rare in a country that has long favored slow evolution to changes abrupt.
