There are a few reasons why are kids are enlisting to the army, navy, marines, etc..
1. Some of them take it as a family tradition that either they want to continue, or they are forced to go and they are too afraid to say that they don't want to go.
2. Some think that this is an easy way when they finish high school, and instead of putting their butts down to read and go to college they prefer to go there.
3. Some of them, use the military so that they will pay college for them.
No matter what the reason are, they have to think about it really good before they sign. It's not a game now I want to go now I don't. They have to understand that if they are not going there for a career, that they are throwing away 4 years minimum of their life, and they can't get those back. They could have done something else those years that would have helped them to start their life
