  1. Agency World Football (FIFA) confirmed today there are five candidates for the FIFA president who will stand for election in Zurich on 26 February.

  3. They are Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein of Jordan, Sheikh Salman Bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Jerome Champagne from France, Gianni Infantino of Italy and and Tokyo Sexwale of South Africa.
  4. "Ad-hoc Selection Committee formally approved and declared candidates are eligible to participate in the FIFA presidential election in an extraordinary congress of FIFA," read a letter sent to 209 members of FIFA on Tuesday (26/01).
  5. So far Sheikh Salman, who served as chairman of the Asian Football Confederation, and Infantino, who served as Secretary General of UEFA, was mentioned as a strong candidate, but all candidates reportedly trying hard to garner support.
