Ferdinand Magellan, the Portuguese Sea Explorer, landed on Mactan Island in 1521 and he fell in love with it. The white sand beach, the corals and the cerulean sea makes Mactan Island a tourist hub in the Philippines. Activities in the island include snorkeling, island hopping, sailing, kayaking and jet skiing. It also has the best diving spots in the whole country. There are also some cultural events happening from time to time which is really exotic so watch out for that.
