  2. AWS announced this week that it has cut it prices by up to 50 percent on all its virtual server plans. New plans start at $3.50 per month. Lightsail has also added two new larger memory options, 16GB and 32GB.

In response to the price cuts, DigitalOcean said in a statement provided to the media: "It is great to see AWS Lightsail stepping up to the plate to match our plans from an initial cost perspective. We see this as a welcome change for developers and the industry as a whole. However, from a total cost of ownership perspective, DigitalOcean still provides the best value in the industry, with significantly lower bandwidth overage costs, free services like monitoring and load balancers, and no hidden fees for our customers."

  36. It's always great for the customer to see when prices drop for services, but with that hopefully nothing else ends up changing, the quality. As long as the quality, services remain the same then that's great. Just curious if anyone has seen any difference at all as of yet?
