You squeeze a bit onto a putty knife or sculpting tool and then quickly wipe the putty over the area you are filling. When using the putty I find it helpful to have a small bowl of water handy to wet my fingers with to stop it from sticking to them.
Epoxy putty is not as scary as you might think it is. Dip fingers into bowl as needed. Once the mold has dried, pop the original out and once again lube the mold.
Can also be used to create a rough surface. Now press another blob of putty into the mold. It tends to stick to other surfaces such as wax paper. How to use: Take equal amounts of the brown and white parts and mix them together with your hands, just like plasticine. It has just the right softness as well once mixed. As with most putties, you are best off working the putty quickly.
Putty Drying Time (Tamiya)? - Each has different properties and applications. Both seem to have about the same curing time.
Honestly great stuff and changed how I build forever. I unpacked tamiya epoxy putty few of my old builds last night and the hood on the '39 Ford I had filled with Tamiya putty three years ago has shrunk to where the outline of the filled area is plainly visible. Tamiya epoxy putty looked great when I put the model away for our move. Guess I'm done with Tamiya putty and Squadron is worse. All the tube-type putties dry the same way: the solvent evaporates, leaving behind the hardened putty. It's the same way paint dries, and because the putty hardens by losing some of its mass the solvents evaporateit shrinks as it dries. This shrinking process can be a long one, as Mike pointed out above. Sometimes everything looks fine, and you paint and finish your model, but months from now the putty will still be shrinking, and you'll see distinctly where the putty has shrunk. Only now it's too late to do anything about it. Once that reaction takes place, there will be no shrinkage. How about Tamiya ''Basic type'' putty??.
