I have a question that if I do put my website url in gmail signature, does this improve my backlink or my SEO.

You seem to being try to take a lot of shortcuts. Building quality links are not easy and doing sloppy work to get them will cause your site to be flagged as spam.

Nope, but it may increase returning visitors to your website,- depends what's on your contact list you have conversation with.
Go ahead and put it in there. You'll be giving the recipients of your emails a link that they might choose to click, thus adding to your traffic. That's a good thing.

Obviously, it won't improve SEO but if anyone clicks on the gmail signature links, then he/she comes to your site and your site traffic will increase.
No, this technique will not create a backlink.
Since it is just used in your signature, you won't get any benefit from that. It is just to let your clients know about your website.
