1. Contact Xbox support @ http://support.xbox.com/en-US/contact-us
2. Pick Xbox One, then accessories and "chat with microsoft support"
3. Tell them that you bought a controller from best buy around a month ago. Write some reason on why it didn't work (Be Creative!)
eg; when trying to use it, it keeps scrolling to the left. tell them that you bought it over a month ago so you can't return it and was redirected to microsoft.
4. when they ask for a serial number and model number, use this:
S/N: 029900067944XX (Change the X's to random digits)
Model Number: 1537
Lot NO/Date: 1452 (they sometimes ask for this)
5. If they ask for the broken one back first, close the chat and repeat. if they ask for a console serial, use some random serial or say that youre unable to access your xbox right now.
