ISTANBUL, Tuesday : More than 300 Muslim clerics have signed the Ummat Scholars' Charter aimed at stemming the rising tide of normalization of relations with 'Israel'. The signing took place yesterday (18/12) in Istanbul, Turkey, in a press conference attended by more than 300 ulama from 36 Islamic organizations around the world.
The Umma Scholars' Charter is aimed at fighting the normalization of relations with 'Israel', by affirming harassment of relations with the Zionists and it can pose a danger to the Palestinian cause, as well as its resistance.
Attending the press conference were representatives of various mass organizations and Islamic institutions, such as the Moroccan Ulema Association, the Ahlus Sunnah Ulama Association, the World Muslim Scholars Union, the Committee of Muslim Scholars in Iraq, and the Libyan Fatwa Institution.
More than 300 scholars from various countries who signed the charter called on all parties to cut ties with 'Israel'. The Charter consists of 44 chapters divided into several chapters, namely Zionist Entity and its Laws in Syar'i and its Laws, Normalization and Interests, Principles of Resistance to Normalization, Normalization Resistance Objectives, and Dangers and Threats of Normalization.
Meanwhile, in his opening remarks, Shaykh Nawaf Takruri, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Muslim Scholars said, "We present this charter as a guide to how to deal firmly with the Zionist entity as God commands."
"The scholars are responsible for explaining to the public the way of izzah and their salvation. And we are determined to invite all parties both politics and NGOs to be able to convert these charter grains into a real movement against normalization of relations with the Zionist invaders, "added the scholar who had visited Indonesia.
"The movement we are witnessing today demands a youth leadership role. They must move the ummah to descend into the resistance field rejecting the Trump claim that seeks to meyahudisasikan Baitul Maqdis. Thus, the role of youth is to lead the movement, while the clerical task of issuing a charter like this to support them, "he said.
Among the chapters in the charter reads, "Normalization of relations with Zionists is haram in syar'i because it is against the principle of faith and relates to the law of sympathy for the fate of Muslims, and obliged to help them."
The charter also invites scholars, scholars and leaders to build public opinion in their country to counter the normalization of relations with the Zionists.
