To save the life on earth for future generation, humankind has already started to think and act over the sustainable use of natural energy resources. In this context, the use of renewable sources of energy in general and hydropower in particular, play a vital role. Although, the future for the development of the solar, wind, tidal, geothermal, nuclear power is unlimited, these forms of energy are not in wide use because of present level of technological development, which requires highly sophisticated innovations. Additionally, there are also many environmental implications in using these sources of energy.
