How credible are the sources mentioned on wikipedia?
Hey guys, I know that wikipedia can be modified by anyone so it may not be considered as credible but what about the websites mentioned at the bottom of wikipedia pages. Are they authentic sources?

Generally speaking, there's no way to guarantee. The bigger and more popular pages have gone through many iterations and for the most part, their sources are credible. However, the Wiki covers a lot of situations. If you were to search for "US Presidents", the sources will be much more scholarly and credible than an article on "Pikachu" from Pokemon since it's pop culture with a lot of grey areas. Either way, if the sources must be highly credible, for school or other reasons, they have to be double checked for accuracy.
I believe Wikipedia somewhat regulates links. They banned Daily Mail some time ago for being unreliable. They have a page on unreliable sources here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Potentially_unreliable_sources
Years ago I added my personal site as a source and it stayed up for weeks. Idk how possible that is now tho.
Just like every other thing in the internet. Might be true, might be false.
