Paris Saint-Germain must overcome the might of Bayern Munich tonight if they are to lift the Champions League trophy for the first time.
After numerous heartbreaking exits in recent seasons, the French champions have finally made it to the showpiece final but their opponents could hardly be more daunting.
Bayern are in the form of their lives and have won all 10 of their games in this season’s competition, with their 8-2 victory over Barcelona in the quarter-finals and 3-0 success against Lyon in the last four serving notice of their intentions.
In Robert Lewandowski, they have the hottest goalscorer in the world right now.
The Pole has scored 55 goals in 46 games this season, including 16 in 13 games since football returned in May.
But PSG will take confidence from the way they cruised past RB Leipzig in their semi-final thanks to goals from Marquinhos, Angel Di Maria and Juan Bernat, as well as their dramatic late turnaround to beat Atalanta 2-1 in the last eight.
They appear to have overcome the mental hurdle of the knockout stages and Neymar has looked like a man on a mission during this mini-tournament.
Although he failed to score in either of PSG's last two games, he did notch two assists.
And the brilliant Brazilian will know he and Kylian Mbappe have a big part to play if the French giants are to upset the odds and beat Bayern.
Despite their imperious form, the Bundesliga champions have looked slightly vulnerable at the back and PSG may feel that going toe-to-toe with them is the best bet.
The fact that Bayern’s 10 Champions League games this term have produced 50 goals, while PSG's have delivered 30, only adds to the idea that this will not be a cagey final like we often see.
