  3. I thought I was golden. I am guessing it will cost 10x more - provide 10% of the service - and be required.
  4. Enabling bridge mode in some modems will make it not work with Google wifi. As I reported earlier, the OnHub operates networks on both the 2. The boldface here isn't intended as emphasis; I don't know why my input suddenly went bold.
  5. Or even the more relevant question from the parent's link: Can I use Google Wifi with OnHub? This should theoretically be possible, once the OnHub firmware is updated to match that of the upcoming Google WiFi units. It is frustrating, but remaining polite and patient and ready to explain what you're trying to do 10 times is key. If you do, you might run into problems with wireless set top boxes. It's hard to tell just based on the number of reviews, as certain products inspire people to review a lot more than others, but if they're at all indicative of sales, Velop and Orbi both have more reviews than Google WiFi. They're looking at a market where it's likely people only have smart devices and no computers. Since OnHub and Google Wii use a non standard up range of 192. So if you have an OnHub and need more coverage, simply add a Wifi point to your existing network and -- voila -- you now have a mesh Wi-Fi network. For Sonos to work seamlessly you need everything on the same subnet. Are there any other sources of firmware updates than the internal update process?
  6. Google Wifi/OnHub Mesh In Bridge Mode? : OnHub - You may see 2 WiFi ports, one for 2.
  7. Hey all, Does anyone know if Google Wifi or OnHub will be able to mesh when they are in bridge mode. Edit: Sorry for the confusion everyone, I'll try to explain a bit more clearly. I know in general Wifi and OnHub will be able to mesh together. I'm just going to use OnHub from here on out so it's less confusing, since they'll be virtually identical in most situations. My question was that if you have a standalone router not OnHub and have an OnHub in bridge mode connected to that router via ethernet to use as your wireless access point, can you still add on other OnHub points to that access point. Hopefully that cleared things up a bit. Thanks for your time and responses everyone. They will mesh together both wirelessly. I'm not extending my current router which has no wifi capability. I want to extend my current WiFi network, which is done via an OnHub in bridge mode it acts as wifi access point only, no routing. This should theoretically be possible, once the OnHub firmware is updated to match that of the upcoming Google WiFi units. All we can do is wait and see. This sentence in my opinion says exactly what you are looking for and I'm sorry it is not the answer you were looking for: but you will not be able to mesh create a single network with an existing router unless that router is an OnHub or Google Wifi point. If you look at the help if you aren't using OnHub or Wifi as your router then you can't wirelessly mesh them together. At least that is the way I read it. And I believe there is either a comment in an earlier thread or on the Official Product Forum from one of the members of the Wifi team confirming that. I looked for it earlier but didn't find it though. Can I use it as an extender. Google Wifi cannot be used as an extender for your current router. Google Wifi replaces your router with one or more Google Wifi points. A more relevant link for OnHub specifically is OnHub and Google Wifi will work together. So if you have an OnHub and need more coverage, simply add a Wifi point to your existing network and -- voila -- you now have a mesh Wi-Fi network. Or google wifi bridge mode the more relevant question from the parent's link: Can I use Google Wifi with OnHub. OnHub and Google Wifi points can work together to create a mesh network. If you already have an OnHub, you can add a Wifi point to expand coverage to new parts of your home. If you google wifi bridge mode then add other points onto that Google Wifi provided wireless signal. I updated my post for hopefully a little more clarity.
