According to that which was spoken
The foundation for faith is and must always be the word of God. If we say we are in faith and do not have a word from God we are standing on, then we are not in faith at all. Faith is not spiritual stubbornness or mere positive thinking.
Many struggle to maintain a positive mental outlook on life but this is not bible faith. When the heat and pressure of life comes they fall like a pack of cards. They have built their faith on sand, it cannot survive the storm.
Our faith must be anchored in the word of God, that way, it is not you that is being tested but His word. Abraham believed God and held to an anchor - according to that which God has spoken (Rom 4:18)
What is the anchor for your faith, what is your word foundation, what is that which has been spoken? Peter said we must always be ready to give a reason for our faith (I Pet 3:15)
Faith always begins when we find the word of God for our situation. Search the scriptures and discover his word concerning you, for they are life to those that find it (Prov 4:22). Then when the storms arise you can boldly testify - according to that which was spoken.
