  1. 尘 (F塵) [chén] means DUST. The simple form 尘 is formed with 小 [xiǎo] SMALL (ideograph of ∴ three grains of rice) and 土 [tǔ] DIRT (pictograph of a mound of EARTH, or a plant growing up out of the SOIL / GROUND). 小 SMALL 土 SOIL is 尘 DUST. How about the full form 塵 [chén]? Why does 塵 mean DUST? Clue: 塵 is formed with 鹿 [lù] (pictograph of a DEER) and 土 SOIL :)
