The Russian government called on the United States Treasury Department to disclose evidence that it considers President Vladimir Putin corrupt.
These allegations submitted by an official of the Ministry of Finance, Adam Szubin, the BBC investigative program, Panorama.
Szubin, which oversees foreign sanctions Ministry of Finance, told the BBC that the US government already knew Putin corrupt for "many years".
But the Russian government spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the official statement of the Ministry of Finance together with the formal accusation.
"This is the formal charges, the first to clearly show who is behind this and both these allegations need proof, because hurl accusations like this by agencies such as the Ministry of Finance without supporting evidence right raises the question of the institution," said Peskov on Tuesday (26/01).
