  15. Google trend says that there are more people in the UK. Australia and New Zealand searching for 'optimisation' than 'optimization'
  16. On the other hand more people in india, south africa & US search for 'optimization'
  17. Just wanted to point it out as i found some of the wannabe 'optimizers' using the wrong version in their websites ( i run a local SEM training firm).
  18. Google trend says that there are more people in the UK. Australia and New Zealand searching for 'optimisation' than 'optimization'
  19. That's because we spell it properly over here ;)
  20. According to me.. its more appropriately spelled as ....zation ... coz thts how its pronounced toooo....
  21. Optimise is English from UK, Optimize is English from US. Indians normally use the S and not the Z...not sure from where Google got its facts. Similar example is advertise & advertize. I normally use the Z as I was with some US companies before.
  22. search engine optimization is the right spelling
  23. Optimisation is also right.
  24. search engine optimization is the right spelling
  25. It depends which market you're targeting, you wouldn't get many customers from outside the US using that spelling.
  26. if your after America, change s to z, anywhere else, use the proper spelling :p
  27. Here in Canada we use both 'cause we can never remember which one to use, z or s. I like z personly.
  28. In India it's not only s that we use...I was taught we should use s in schools but as I go I have found many people using z...Even the Microsoft Word show me a red underline when I use s...Later I came to know the difference is due to American English and English English...Well, not most people in India bother about that...they use whatever they like..no one actually cares, and I hope this is the same situation with all the countries where English is not the first language...There is nothing like which one is correct...it all depends on the market and place you are targetting...If I were to optimise (as I was taught) my general site, I will optimize it cos my site is US traffic based...
  29. Even the Microsoft Word show me a red underline when I use s...
  30. You can get rid of that by changing the dictionary from US English to UK (Real) English ;)
  31. If I were to optimise (as I was taught) my general site, I will optimize it cos my site is US traffic based...
  32. Bingo, that's all you need to know :)
  33. As what has been mentioned, it depends on your targeted market. I use Optimize thou ;)
  34. You can get rid of that by changing the dictionary from US English to UK (Real) English ;)
  35. Click to expand...
  36. I already did that lol ;) but at present it's set to US English again, cos I am used to that....;)
  37. Never thought about this before, thanks for pointing it out. I personally use optimization.
  38. I use 'optimization' as most of my clients are from United States.
  39. With no disrespect for Her Majesty, the UK and the Commonwealth – as well as for the University of Oxbridge – you’d better use ‘optimization’ :)
  40. I suppose this is a conventional global (i.e. American) form.

  42. I suppose this is a conventional global (i.e. American) form.
  43. Yes, 'z' is global instead of 's'
  44. Optimization and Optimisation are both right. It's just that "optimization" are commonly used in the US and "optimisation" are most common in the UK.
