  1. What comes to mind when you hear
  2. the word failure? You probably are
  3. thinking about the times when you
  4. have thought you were not good
  5. enough and that you should just give up. While failure can involve those thoughts and emotions, failure also has the power to make us stronger or wiser.
  6. A simple definition of failure is: An
  7. act or instance of failing or proving
  8. unsuccessful; lack of success.
  9. When I think of this definition of
  10. failure, I am reminded of Thomas
  11. Edison, the inventor of the light bulb.
  12. While there are many conflicting
  13. stories of how many times Edison
  14. “failed” at inventing the electric light, bulb, most agree it was in the
  15. thousands before he found the right combination of materials. One of Edison’s most famous quotes is,
  16. “ I have not failed. I’ve just found
  17. 10,000 ways that won’t work. I am
  18. not discouraged because every
  19. wrong attempt discarded is another
  20. step forward."
