CRYPTO-CURRENCIES NEWS: Head of Group-IB: crypto-currencies should be legalized
The percentage of crimes financed by crypto currency is insignificantly small compared with bribes and corruption deals, where traditional money appears, says Ilya Sachkov, the founder and CEO of Group-IB.
"The technology of the blockade is good in that all operations are visible: exchanges, purses, exchangers leave a lot of digital information. In fact, bitcoin in terms of tracking - a much more understandable story than cash. Therefore, I believe that you should not be afraid of crypto currency. And you do not have to ban for one simple reason - this is not forbidden, as the Internet, "- he emphasizes.
Sachkov is confident in the expediency of legalizing crypto-currencies, since this will increase tax revenues to the budget.
"This technology can easily be legalized and controlled. Services exchangers, withdrawal from the exchange - the state from this all can receive taxes, as do other countries that have legalized the crypto currency, "- he notes, citing the example of the American stock exchanges Kraken, Poloniex, which are certified by the securities commission.
"They pay huge taxes to the state. People because of the fact that these exchanges are certified, go there very willingly. On these sites online is always 300-400 thousand people. If a Russian citizen wants to buy a currency, but there is no possibility, then what does he do? He goes to the shadow economy or to the economy of another country. If you bought a currency on Coinmama, then the service will pay tax for you in the country where it is registered, "the head of Group-IB reports.
According to him, either the state legalizes crypto-currencies and economically benefits from it (taxes, certification of exchanges, license), or prohibits - "but it will not disappear, it will simply be in the shadow turnover."
