  1. Phone bills have gotten cheaper over the years but are still quite expensive. I have been lucky enough to have paid $40 or less every month for the last 4 years. Currently i pay $30 a month with 3gb of data. I am able to do this because I use a data only sim card. It is a simple process, order a sim card for a tablet, put it into your phone. Now your phone has access to 4g data, use hangouts for calling. Hangouts is a superior messaging app anyways and extremely easy to get use to. This works with any carrier and any phone that is normally compatible with said carrier. If you currently have Verizon, just look at how much the plan is for a tablet. Currently 1 tablet and 2gb of data costs $30 a month. A phone with 3gb costs $55, the more data you use and the more lines you do this with, the more you will save. It may not be huge but a couple hundred dollars a month for no sacrifice and minimal effort upfront is pretty nice to me.
