I will sell my family home to finance UKIP, says new leader Henry Bolton

  1. UKIP’s new leader, Henry Bolton, has revealed that he will sell his home in order to finance his leadership.
  2. UKIP’s leadership position is unpaid and unlike his predecessor, Paul Nuttall, Mr Bolton is not a salaried MEP.
  3. The UKIP leader explained that he had meetings lined up with donors and insisted the position would be paid for - even if it meant selling the family home.
  4. “At the moment I am funding myself. I entered this knowing it wasn't paid. And, if I don't get any sort of remuneration from this, then we will be selling the home,” said Mr Bolton.
  5. Asked how his wife felt about the plan, Mr Bolton said: "She is nervous and supportive."
  6. Speaking on LBC, Mr Bolton said: “This country is at such a juncture there is a desperate need for a bit of leadership and pro-Brexit opposition.
  7. “The next fews years is going to dictate, for generations, the future of this country.
  8. “It is desperate that we get some leadership involved and UKIP is in the right position to provide some of that.”
