1. Running HitLeap
By running HitLeap on your VPS you can get hits on your website or designated link; but you may be wondering, "How would I make money by getting hits on my website?"
Well . . . DON'T consider PTP, Adfly, or Adsense; you will probably get banned almost immediately, so therefore it's not profitable at all—and really it's just a waste of time. If you decide to utilize "anonymous ads" you will earn a lot of BTC . . . trust me, and you can also use AdHexa (though disclaimer: they may pay through Skrill only). Another great technique is to sell your HitLeap minutes on Fiverr or wherever you see fit.
2. Hosting Game servers
You can host game servers as in: Counter Strike, Minecraft (be wary as Minecraft servers require a lot of RAM), etc., and sell them or keep them as your own. It's suggested to use Linux when hosting those game servers, for Windows takes a far greater amount of performance (required).
3. Running Macros
Running macros like AddMeFast are good for one: "to get points" and two: "then sell the account on any marketplace;" or use macros on any other websites like PTC, or of course your own social media network(s) (though I advise you to go semi-easy when it comes to PTC offers).
4. Running Bots
You can run bots like "auto clickers" and use "GSA captcha breaker" (or any service you prefer as long as it works) to take care of roadblocks that may interrupt or intervene with your accompanying tasks. Of course there's absolutely plenty of possibilities, I'm just conveying an example.
5. Running FTP servers
Create FTP servers and sell them to new companies; though this can be difficult to do.
6. Retransmission of Streams
To retransmit a stream for another person or group. An example would be: "A server in the UK that is dedicated to displaying certain content to only UK citizens, and an individual that takes that content funneling it through his VPS to let's say . . . France for those who'd like to view said content as well."
7. Penetration Test on the Cloud
You can offer pentest cloud services by installing Kali Linux tools and reselling it to other people for underlying purposes (and make sure to do your research when it comes to this so you know "the ins and outs" of any corresponding legal procedures, related methods, general functionality, etc.).
Ventures or Methods I'd Recommend to Stay Away from (Unless You for Sure Know What You're Doing)
Don't even think about Cryptocurrency mining with a VPS; mining is problematic and not efficient enough to be considered worthwhile.
Don't try to DDoS (could and most likely will screw up or exceed your bandwidth limit(s) if you have any).
Don't use a "Trojan" or "botnet" as you may already know the possible consequences.
