LUCID FLIGHT RATIOS
There is an ideal Speed to Height ratio when flying in a lucid dream. This ratio arises from two laws, my first rule of dream control "everything requires your attention to exist, and the law of physics which states that you can't have movement without something else to move relative to.
-Everything requires your attention to exist. So, if you fly too fast too close to the ground, everything kind of blurs out of focus. Without that focus to sustain the dream environment, you get massive instability and the dream collapses.
-When you drive in your car, trees by the side of the road fly by, but mountains in the distance appear not to move at all. If you are flying too high, all your points of reference will be so far away that they appear not to be moving at all. This kills your sense of movement and can end up spitting you out into the void.
You can get around the problems with flying too high and too slow by using local reference points. Something closer like an airplane or space ship or some other people or creatures to fly with. This will create local reference points and keep things stable.
