Until now, we heard quite many things about the unannounced Samsung Galaxy A9, including the fact that the handset would sport a 5.5-inch display. It turns out that this isn't true, as the upcoming smartphone is actually larger, having a pretty big 6-inch 1080p Super AMOLED screen.
Thanks to several leaked images that seem to have originated from Samsung China, we know not just the fact that the Galaxy A9 sports a 6-inch display, but also that it's got a battery to match such a large screen: a 4000 mAh one. Moreover, the handset features a 13 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, fingerprint scanner, an octa-core Snapdragon 620 processor, 3 GB of RAM, and 32 GB of storage space.
The Galaxy A9 is obviously part of Samsung's Galaxy A 2016 series (which also includes the second generation Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, and Galaxy A7), thus being built around a metal frame.
It's said that the Samsung Galaxy A9 will be released later this month, or in January 2016, first in China. The smartphone could cost around $450, apparently running Android Lollipop at launch (though we expect an update to Android 6.0 Marshmallow to be available shortly after that).
