Sindoor, also known as vermillion is a red color mixture prepared by mixing lime, turmeric and metal mercury. This is applied by a married woman on her forehead all the way up until the pituitary gland. This mixture helps control blood pressure. Widows don’t sport a Sindoor as it also increases sexual drive.
