  2. WOOLWICH, N.J., Sept. 17 (UPI) -- New Jersey residents are trying to capture an escaped piglet seen wandering through yards in two towns.
  3. The piglet was purchased by Shane Murray, a senior at Kingsway High School in Woolwich, and his friends to serve as a mascot for their class, but the small swine made a daring escape from its temporary pen before it could be transported to a friend's farm, the South Jersey Times reported Tuesday.
  4. "We tried cornering it in my back yard, but it goes out into Locke Avenue in Swedesboro and then it just darts into the woods," Murray said. "We tried chasing it multiple times and, darn that thing is fast. I never knew how fast a pig could be."
  5. The 8-week-old pig, which the group bought on Craigslist for $50 and named Dubbsy after assistant principal Edward Dubbs, has been spotted running through yards in Woolwich and Swedesboro since its escape more than a week ago.
  6. "We want to bring it to my friend's farm as soon as possible and keep him healthy," Murray said. "I don't want it to get hurt or for anyone else to get hurt."
