  1. New to Bitcoin but don't want to buy any?
  2. First off, you need a wallet.
  3. The safest option is to get an offline lightweight wallet, don't worry about the bitcoin qt client unless
  4. you want to become a "node". A lightweight wallet like Multibit ( www.multibit.org ), which is actually endorsed by the Bitcoin foundation as a everyday person wallet, will suit your needs fine.
  5. Once you have the wallet software installed on your computer, load it up.
  6. If you are using Multibit, navigate your mouse to the top left corner of the Multibit window and select:
  7. File / New Wallet
  8. Name your new wallet and if you have a empty USB stick handy, I recommend saving your wallet onto that and making a few back ups of it.
  9. Great! This is your new wallet. If you plan on buying BTC for this wallet then I highly recommend encrypting your wallet or using a better wallet software rather than my knowledge. Armor is great for large sums of BTC.
  10. K, now we want some Bitcoins to see what all the fuss is about. There are many way's to get free Bitcoins on the internet, be it they don't come in the whole coins. There are website's like http://freebitco.in/?r=513 which give you free Bitcoins every hour for simply entering a 4 digit number, they payout weekly every Monday though but the payouts are worth it compared to the grind of other websites.
  11. There are also some gambling website's that have free giveaways , www.Primedice.com give's 0.00001 every minute for typing in a re-captcha code. You have to reach a minimum of 0.0005 BTC before you can withdraw though as there is a 0.0001 BTC tx fee. Still, with today's BTC price, that's a good payout!
  12. I wish you all the best!
